I decided to hit the 99 Cent store today to see what I could find.  There were a lot of Halloween items for, you guessed it, 99 cents.  So I decided to create a Halloween wreath from 99 Cent store finds.  I could have bought something to use as a wreath frame but I already had one that I needed to use so that was really the only thing that wasn’t purchased there.  So here it is an easy and inexpensive slightly creepy 99 Cent Store Halloween Wreath.

Step 1: 99 Cent Store Halloween Wreath

The wreath form I had was white and that would never do so I started by covering it with some dark blue crepe paper I found at the store.  I would have preferred a dark purple but you have to go with what they have.

Next I covered the wreath in a small spiderweb like table cloth.  I stapled the two sides of the fabric together on the backside and cut off the remainder.  I used the cut off piece to form a droopy bow on my wreath.  You could use some fabric stiffener to make it stiff or I actually purchased a bow at the store but decided that although the spider theme worked the orange and black did not.

Step 3: 99 Cent Store Halloween Wreath

Next I added a plaque that hangs from the bottom that says tricks and treats.  The original version had a cat on the top but I sawed off the cat with a hack saw and just used the remainder. I chose to hang the plaque so little eyes could see it because the rest of the wreath would be quite high.

Step 4: 99 Cent Store Halloween Wreath

Once all of these components were together I began adding the spiders.  The first spider that went on was the large spider for the middle of the wreath.  Once it was in place, I was able to position all of the other spiders so that they appeared to be swarming the nest, just waiting for the next child to shout Trick of Treat and disturb them once more.
