How to Make a Dollar Tree Burlap Wreath

How to Make a Dollar Tree Burlap Wreath

I love the ease and inexpensiveness of decorating from Dollar Tree.  This time of year they have the perfect items to make this Dollar Tree Burlap Wreath.  And of course it doesn’t cost a fortune because each item only costs a dollar.  I love the rustic charm of this wreath and the little pop of autumn color that adorns it. I also love that it only took about 15 minutes to make from start to finish.  You will definitely enjoy this terrific little project as much as I did. Everything that went into making this project came from Dollar Tree.  So let’s get started with how to make a dollar tree burlap wreath.

What you will Need:

  • Wire wreath form
  • 4 spools of 2″ x 3 yds of Burlap Ribbon
  • 1 spool of 2″ x 3 yds of ribbon for the bow
  • Bunch of autumn leaves
  • Bunch of autumn flowers
  • Hot Glue

Weave the burlap between the rungs.  Keep the burlap in loose loops as you weave.

When you get to the top of the rung twist the burlap a few times and insert it back through the bottom rung next to the first row of burlap.  Weave the burlap in the same way until the burlap runs out.  Tuck the burlap into the loops and secure with glue. Start again with a new spool of burlap and continue until you have filled the entire wreath form.  Cut off any remaining burlap and secure with a dollop of glue.

Make the bow.  You can make the bow however you want.  I just crossed two pieces of chevron painted burlap to create the loops and the tails then glued a loop around the center where the ribbon crossed.  I glued the ribbon to the wreath at the top. It was as simple as that.

Step 5: How to Make a Dollar Tree Burlap Wreath

You can keep the wreath plain or you can adorn it.  I chose to add some autumn color with leaves and flowers.  I simply cut off the portion of the leaves and flowers that I needed and glued them to the wreath to add some color and an autumn feel.  You have now finished your dollar tree burlap wreath.
