How to Make a Dollar Tree Planter

How to Make a Dollar Tree Planter

You all know that I love Dollar Tree Crafts. I thought I was due to create another one for the blog so I came up with this one. It is a Dollar Tree Planter. This is a super simple beginner craft project that can be made from Dollar Tree craft supplies. I used paint and a hot glue gun to complete the look. I decided that I would go with a nautical look to my planter project but you could shabby chic, farmhouse or multicolored. It is completely unto you.

I obtained almost everything from Dollar Tree. I used a pillar candle holder that I got at JOANN Fabric & Craft Stores. The pillars I usually use from Dollar Tree were out of stock so I went to JOANN Fabric & Craft Stores instead. What you will Need: How to make a Dollar Tree Planter

What you will need

Step 1: Paint your Plaque and Pillar

Choose a color to paint your plaque. I chose a navy blue for the first layer of my plaque and pillar since I was going with a nautical theme but you could choose white or a distressed look for yours. I chose a white to paint for the second and third coats to give it a little distressed look.

Paint second coat white

Step 2: Glue your Plaque to the Pillar

Using your hot glue gun center the plaque to the pillar and glue them together.

Step 3: Glue the Rope to the Plastic Pot

I chose two types of rope and hot glued the rope to the plastic pot starting at the bottom.

Step 4: Glue the Rope to the Flower Plaque

I glued rope around the perimeter of my flower plaque to enhance the look and cover up the hole in the plaque where the hanger was.

Step 5: Add the Dollar Tree Plants

I purchased Dollar Tree Faux Eucalyptus for my project. I folded up the stems and added them to the pot. Your Dollar Tree Planter is now complete.
