How to Make A Double Fabric Gift Card Holder
Holidays and birthdays are always great times to give gift cards but there is never anything good to give them in. I previously showed you how to make a basic fabric gift card holder for one card. Now I am going to show how easy it is to make a double fabric gift card holder that will hold two gift cards. This project is super simple and takes just minutes to make. I like this project because you can choose from a variety of fun fabrics. I used a fun Christmas fabric for this project because Christmas is just around the corner. But you could use any print that you like. Regardless of the print or the occasion this is a fun and simple sewing project for any beginner sewist. You can make it with scraps and remnants too.
What you will Need: How to make a double fabric gift card holder
- 1/4 yd cotton fabric
- Poking tool like That Purple Thing
- Standard sewing supplies
Step 1: Cut Your Fabrics
You will need to cute four pieces of fabric. Cut two pieces that measure 5″ x 4″ and two pieces that measure 4″ x 4″. Press your fabrics.
Step 2: Add the Ends
Fold the two 4″ x 4″ pieces in half wrong sides together and press so that you have a nice crisp edge. Line up the two folded pieces with each end of one of the 5″ x 4″ pieces. Stitch the ends together. You can use a straight stitch for this.
Step 3: Add the Back
Place the other 5″ x 4″ piece right sides together with the other pieces. Using a 1/4″ seam allowance stitch all the way around leaving a 2″ opening on one side for turning. Clip the corners.
Step 4: Turn the fabrics
Turn the fabrics through the opening you left on one of the side so that it is right sides out. Use a poking tool to push out the corners making sure they are nice and crisp. I like to use That Purple Thing that you can find in my Amazon Shop. Press. Stitch the opening closed using ladder stitch. Add your gift cards and give your gift.
