How to Make a Double Sided Triangle Pouch

Finished triangle pouch

This is a fun little storage pouch for coins or ear phones or other smalls that I found on JSDaily and wanted to share with you.  It is as Double Sided Triangle Pouch.  You can have earphones on one side and coins on the other.  How fun is that.  Just toss it in your purse and it is ready to go.  This is a beginner sewing project that anyone with basic sewing skills can make.  This project does require Kam Snaps though.  But, they are super simple to install.  In fact I will attach a video to show you exactly how to do it.

I went to my scrap bin for this project because not much fabric is needed for this.  If you have a scrap bin or remnant stash like I do that is the ideal place to get fabric for this project.  If to head over to JOANN Fabric & Craft Stores, Hobby Lobby, Fabric.com or Onlinefabricstore.net to get exactly what you need for your Double Sided Triangle Pouch.  This post contains affiliate links that if you click on them and make a purchase I may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you.  As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

What You will Need: How to Make a Double Sided Triangle Pouch

  • 1 outer and 1 lining piece of cotton fabric that measure 11 5/8″ x 4 3/8″
  • 1 Piece of Pellon SF 101 interfacing that measures 10 7/8″ x 3 5/8″
  • 2 Kam Snaps
  • Standard Sewing supplies

Step 1: Create the Pattern

Take the Piece of Pellon SF 101 and measure 2 1/8″ from the top and make a mark.  Draw a line from the mark to the bottom nearest corner.  Measure 2 1/8″ from the opposite bottom and make a mark.  Draw a line to the top nearest corner. Cut the lines.  You should have a piece that looks like a parallelogram.

Mark your interfacing

Step 2: Fuse the Interfacing

Place the SF 101 Pattern piece you just created and fuse it to the wrong side of the outer fabric piece following the manufacturers instructions.

Step 3: Stitch the Outer Piece to the Lining

Place the outer piece right sides together with the lining piece and stitch around the interfacing leaving an opening for turning.  Trim around the seam except for the opening that you left for turning.  Turn right sides out and press. Topstitch around the exterior enclosing the opening.

Step 4: Add the Kam Snaps to your Triangle Pouch

Place the piece with the lining side up on your work surface.  Fold the bottom right corner until it meets the top right corner.  Fold the left corner on top.   Mark a dot on the right corner of the folded piece.  Using the awl that comes with your Kam Snaps kit poke a hole through all layers.  Add one half of the Kam snap in one hole so that the snap part is facing the lining.  Place the other half of the Kam Snap in the other hole so that the snap half faces the outer fabric.  Flip the piece over while it is still folded in half and fold down the final corner.  Mark a dot in the corner and poke a hole through all layers using the awl.  Place one half of the second Kam Snap on the corner so that the snap side is facing the lining.  Place the other half in the final hole with the snap part facing the outer fabric.  Snap the pouch together and you have finished your Double Sided Triangle Pouch.
