How to Sew a Japanese Knot Bag

How to Sew a Japanese Knot Bag

Ever wonder how to sew a Japanese Knot bag?  I came across this knot bag pattern from The Chilly Dog and just had to make it and show it to you all.  It is a fun and quick little project that you can sew, as usual, using remnants.  I have a giant stash full of remnants that I purchase for half price and am always looking for projects to make with them.  This Japanese knot bag was perfect. If you would like to make a simple Japanese Bento bag that ties at the top check out my recent tutorial.

Of course if you do not have such a stash I recommend that you head over to Fabric.com or Hobby Lobby to purchase the perfect fabrics for your Japanese Knot Bag. This post contains affiliate links that if you click on them and make a purchase I may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you.  This is a beginner sewing project for sewers of all levels.

This reversible Japanese bag pattern is simple to make and requires only beginner sewing skills.  You should be able to complete this project in about an hour.  I would recommend quilting cotton or another woven fabric for this project.

If you would like to watch a video of this project head over to YouTube and watch the entire project step-by-step.  While you are there subscribe to my channel and give me a thumbs up.  Thanks.
