How to Sew a Padded Picture Frame

How to make a Padded Picture Frame

I came across this padded picture frame project on YouTube and thought I would share it with you. It is a really cute little project for the beginner sewist and takes just minutes to make. The best part about this project is picking the fabrics to really make your photos pop. Travel fabrics for travel photos, kids fabrics for children, whatever works for your particular photograph. You can really make this project fun. This is all about sewing straight lines if you have trouble with that check out my tutorial on how to sew straight lines.

This project only needs a small amount of fabric depending on the size of the frame you would like to make. You will need three pieces of fabric. I used fabrics from my stash that I had purchased from JOANN Fabric & Craft Storesbut you could head to fabric.com or onlinefabricstore.net to get exactly what you need for this project. Using an erasable pen mark a 3/8″ seam allowance around the outer fabric measuring from the inside opening. Take the polyester fiberfil and stuff the edges of the picture frame. You don’t need too much stuffing here. Stitch around the 3/8″ line you drew. Cut away any excess stuffing.
