This is an update on the Thanksgiving apothecary I did a while ago.  I created this apothecary using chalkboard paint and clear glass so that you can redecorate it for every holiday.  It is now time for Valentines day so here is my interpretation.

What you need: Valentines Apothecary Jar

  • Apothecary Jar — Use the jar you made using my previous tutorial or any jar you have on hand.
  • Heart Stickers
  • Aluminum foil
  • Plain white paper
  • Black Sharpie
  • Chalk
  • Chocolate Kisses

Step 1: Valentines Apothecary Jar

Use a variety of sizes and colors of heart-shaped stickers and place them on the glass part of your jar.  I placed more on the bottom and just a few on the top.

Step 2: Valentines Apothecary Jar

Cut out a strip of white paper and write the word “KISSES” using a black Sharpie.  Take a piece of aluminum foil and wrap it around the top finial so that the white strip of paper sticks out the top replicating chocolate kiss candies.

Step 3: Valentines Apothecary Jar

Using chalk or chalk markers write X’s and O’s or whatever you like around the bottom of the stand of your jar to complete the look.

Step 4: Valentines Apothecary Jar

Add the Chocolate kisses or the treat of your choice and you are finished decorating your jar inexpensively for Valentines Day.  Of Course this is just one very simple example.  You can let your creativity loose for the look of your choice but when time and money are an issue this example takes just a little of each.

Happy Valentines Day everyone.  I Hope you enjoy this easy and inexpensive project.
