Step 1: Dollar Store Faux Mercury Glass Hurricanes
Make sure that all the labels are removed from your pillar glass jars and candle holders. Clean and dry these components. Mix a 50% solution of vinegar and water in the spray bottle.
Step 2: Dollar Store Faux Mercury Glass Hurricanes
Lightly spritz the glass with the vinegar and water mixture.
Step 3: Dollar Store Faux Mercury Glass Hurricanes
Spray the looking glass paint onto the wet surface of the glass using very light strokes. If you are too heavy handed you will see the paint drip and it will ruin your mercury glass look. Lightly pat the glass removing some of the paint for that antique look.

Step 4: Dollar Store Faux Mercury Glass Hurricanes
Wait about a minute and spray the glass again with the vinegar and water mixture then more of the paint. Repeat this process until you get the look you want. Let dry about an hour before you handle the glass.

Step 5: Dollar Store Faux Mercury Glass Hurricanes
Spread some glue onto the rim of the candle holder and place the pillar so that it is centered on the candle holder. Let the glue dry. Once the glue has dried you have completed your Dollar Store Faux Mercury Glass Hurricanes. They look just like real mercury glass for little cost. These Hurricanes are perfect for decorating any time of year but particularly during the Christmas season where that mirrored finish fits in perfectly.
