Here is my latest bag from Sew Me Mine Boutique. The Live, Love, Laugh Messenger bag is a made-to-order Messenger bag with a Live, Love, Laugh theme and teal lining and a teal exterior zippered pocket. This bag also has a large interior slip pocket and an interior zippered pocket can be added. This bag measures 11″ high, 17″ wide and 4″ deep. There is an adjustable 1 1/2″ wide strap that is 50″ long at full length. This messenger bag can be worn over the shoulder or cross body. It can easily carry a laptop, tablet and books.
To make this bag I used a pattern from the Weekend Designer. The bag is fairly simple to make but does require some intermediate sewing skills. It is a nice size for carrying a notebook or tablet as well as books, papers and files. The Live, love, Laugh theme is fun and inspirational although I do offer to make this in other fabrics at the buyers discretion and limited to fabrics I have on hand.
If you decide to make this bag yourself, it goes together pretty quickly assuming you have all the materials on hand. I had to order the belt tip for this bag online and reduce the width of the strap to 1 1/2″. I found the belt tip at I craft for Less on Amazon who sells Nickel Belt Buckle End Tips (1.5″)
. The pattern called for a 2″ tip but I could not find that size so I changed the width to 1 1/2″ to accommodate the belt tips I could find. I had the tri-glide slider but if you need to order it, here is an affiliate link Generic Metal Silvery Rectangle Buckle with Fixed Bar 1.5″. You can get these items in a few days if you have Amazon prime. Everything else should be available at your local fabric store. Good luck with this one. It is a fun bag to make and to carry.
