How to Make a Beautiful Candy Cane Wreath

I really wanted to make a candy cane wreath this year so I went all in on this one. I think I hit every craft store in town to get what I wanted for this project. Of course, I went to Dollar Tree to get the wreath form and some of the items. The bulk of the items used in making this wreath came from Michaels. They really had a lot of very nice items to add to the wreath I envisioned in my mind. I must admit I went crazy while I was there. Oh well, I can use the rest of the items next year. I really think this project came out well. If you would like more holiday sewing and crafting projects head over to my Holiday Project Vault for dozens of ideas complete with tutorials.

What you will Need: How to Make a Beautiful Candy Cane Wreath
- Candy Cane Wreath Form — I got mine at Dollar Tree
- Large Sized Yarn — I used Loops and Threads in white and red from Michaels
- Whimsical picks from Michaels
- 4 types of Ribbon — I used Michaels and Dollar Tree but you can use whatever you like
- Greenery — I used a combination of Dollar Tree and Michaels
- https://amzn.to/3U7bVxTBowdabra (optional)
- Hot Glue
- Zip Ties or twine
- Red Jingle Bell
Step 1: Wrap the Wreath Form
Take your red and white yarn and place the ends together. Wrap the entire wreath form with the alternating red and white yarn. Hot glue as you go to secure the yarn to the wreath.

Step 2: Add the Snow Covererd Greenery
To the wrapped wreath add two picks of snow covered greenery. Attach the greenery with hot glue.

Step 3: Add the Whimsical Picks
I purchased a variety of whimsical picks that i attached up and down the wreath using hot glue. I tried to vary the length of the picks to give it a nice full look.

Step 4: Add the Add the Greenery
Add a touch of greenery up and down the wreath attaching it with hot glue.

Step 5: Create the Bow
Using your Bowdabra or by hand create the bow. I used four different ribbons for my bow. You can make the bow as large as you like but I kept mine sort of medium sized by layering the different ribbons in my Bowdabra. Once you have completed layering the ribbon, tie it off. Manipulate the ribbon until you like the look.

Step 6: Add the Bow
To add the bow you can use a tie wrap or twine. I opted not to use hot glue because I was certain how strong it would hold. I used twine to attach my bow. Once the bow is attached fluff it up so that it has a nice full look.

Step 7: Add the Jingle Bell
I bought these large jingle bells from Dollar Tree for another project and a few left over so I hot glued one to the end of the curve in the candy cane. Once that was done so was I.
