What you will Need: How to Make a Dollar Tree Reindeer and Floral Centerpiece
- 2 large silver reindeer
- 2 black candle holders
- 1 Pool Noodle
- Zip ties
- Silver Christmas ornaments
- Square piece of wood
- Faux fur
- 1 Skewer
- Winter florals
- 2 candles
- Floating vase fillers
- Floating candles
- Rotary tool
Step 1: Add the Christmas Ornaments
Take the cap off of the Christmas ornaments and drill a hole all the way through the ornament. I used my rotary tool for this but you could use an awl or other sharp tool. Push the skewer through the ornaments so that the skewer extends over the top. You may have to cut the skewer down but you will need that extra at the top to go to the next step. After completing this project I would advise that you use a dowel rather than a skewer for the ornaments. The skewer needed a lot of extra steps to secure it.
Step 2: Glue the Reindeer to the Skewer
Sandwich the skewer between the two silver reindeer. Glue to the skewer and all the way around. I used hot glue and e6000. The reindeer come in three colors so you do not have to stick to the silver theme.
Step 4: Prepare the Pool Noodle
Cut off a 2″ piece off the end of the noodle. Cut that in half. Fold the pool noodle in half. On one end place a candle holder. Once the candle holder is in place add a zip tie around the noodle to secure. Hot glue the half 2″ piece of noodle to the larger noodle in the center on both sides. Then, add the reindeer you just created to the noodle you just glued by sticking the skewer into the noodle. Add hot glue to the bottom ornament to further secure. Add another zip tie. Finally add another candle holder and zip tie.
Step 5: Add the Florals
Using the pool noodle like floral foam add the florals all the way around. I cut the flowers off the bunch and inserted them one at a time to get the look I wanted.
Step 6: Add the Vase Fillers
I filled my vases with floating vase fillers. To do this you have to soak the water beads for 6-8 hours so that they puff up. Place them into the vase. Next, add the decorations that come with the vase filler or your own. Add water so that it is about 3/4 of the way full. Stir.
Step 7: Add the Candle
Add a floating candle to the vases. I chose a Christmas red candle for my centerpiece. You have now finished your Dollar Tree Reindeer and Floral Centerpiece.
