I Love to Learn

I Love to Learn

I am a perennial student.  I love to learn.  I am continually taking classes online, reading books, magazines and articles just to learn things that draw my attention.  My interests range from the integrases of politics and political parties to making cake pops and most everything in between.

Of course I started in school which I enjoyed unlike other students forced to attend class every day and doing homework on the weekends.  I easily transitioned from high school to college then to law school even though I had to work full-time while I did it.  It took longer than most but the joy I received in learning pushed toward my goal of becoming a practicing attorney.

Once I became a criminal prosecutor my education was only beginning.  Learning how the world really works was a new and sometimes shocking revelation but exciting at the same time.  I love my job but I have never stopped learning.  I am most certainly a Type – A personality and have a need to continue my quest for knowledge.

I love history and read a lot about the subject but I also love to sew and spend time learning more and more about the craft.  I am a political junkie and spend a lot of time reading political news and views from both sides of the political aisle.  I have a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Political Science and the love of politics has never left me.  There is so much to learn about the minutia of politics and political debate that I continue to focus attention on it.

My latest learning adventure came last night when I took Craftsy’s free mini class on how to make cake pops.  I really enjoyed the class and will be sharing my version of Valentine’s cake pops in a few weeks.  I have never made anything like these before and the decorating ideas were terrific.  They were far easier for a novice to complete than I expected.  I hope you will like my version of cake pops when you see them.  They certainly are delicious.

My next learning adventure is yet another class on photography.  I really cannot seem to get the hang of it.  Of course I will be taking Craftsy’s Basics of Digital Photography (w/ Rick Allred) with the hope that my picture-taking will improve.  Only time will tell.

There are so many things that I am interested in learning about but I do not have enough time.  Some of the subjects I like are pretty heavy and some are not but they all feed my hunger for knowledge.  I have loved learning since I can remember and I hope that I will continue to love it for the rest of my life.  I hope you do too.
