They say that the kitchen is the heart of the home but I don’t think that was ever true in our family. For us, the heart of the home was all of the experiences we shared in it whether they occurred in the kitchen, the back yard, living room or anywhere else. Now that my children have both graduated from college and are leading independent lives those experiences remain in the recess of our memories and so the heart of our home continues to beat whether they are home or away. There are many things around the house that continually remind me of the many experiences we shared. We didn’t have a lot of money to take trips or long vacations so we did things to make our house a home. In this part of the blog, I am going to share with you many of the things we did to make our house uniquely ours without spending a lot of money. These are things that anyone can do on a budget, on their on own or with their family that will truly make any house, apartment, or room a home.
