How to Make a Dollar Tree Christmas Carousel

I saw this on FaceBook and decided to recreate it for you. There were no instructions so this is my version of the Dollar Tree Christmas Carousel. This project is super simple to make. You just need a few Dollar Tree items to create most of it. I added a few things from Amazon and Michaels to complete the project. Once you have all the items you just need a hot glue gun and glue to put it all together. I really like this project. It is perfect for your home’s Christmas Decor. Step 1: Glue the Lazy Susan Mechanism

Using 2 part clear epoxy glue, attach the lazy susan mechanism to the bottom of one of the cake plates. it is important to use a glue that absolutely dries clear. I made a few mistakes with glue that dried cloudy. The 2 part epoxy worked well for this project. The epoxy takes some time to dry so have patience with this.

Step 2: Attach the Christmas Floral Scraps and Ribbon

I used a bit of ribbon and some Christmas floral scraps to decorate the deer. To do this, I wrapped a piece of ribbon around each deer and tied it. You can add gel super glue to secure if you like. Once the ribbon is attached, glue some greenery and berries using.

Step 3: Attach the Deer and Icicle

Using a ruler, divide the cake plate with the Lazy Susan mechanism into fours. With the epoxy glue attach 4 deer in a circle around the plate. Remove the hanger from the icicle ornament including the half circle plastic piece. I used my wire snips. Sand down the top so that it is flat. Glue the icicle in the center of the right side of the second plate. I used a touch of super glue and the epoxy to secure. let dry before moving to the next step.

Step 4: Add the Second Cake Plate

Turn the second cake plate upside down. Place epoxy on the deer on the places that the cake plate will touch. Add epoxy to the center of the plate with the deer. Glue on the Cake Plate including the icicle.

Step 5: Add the Light to the Bowl

I used a motion light that I purchased on Amazon so that I would not have to worry about turning it on and off. It is self adhesive so I did not have to add any glue. You can use a Dollar Tree puck light but you will not be able to glue the bowl. Glue the light using super glue.

Step 6: Attach the Christmas Tree

Using both glues attach the acrylic Christmas tree to the top of the bowel.

Step 7: Add the Silver Stars

Place a few silver star stickers to the bowl in a random pattern.

Step 8: Glue the Bowl

Place super glue on the rim of the bowl. Place the bowl upside down on the top cake plate in the center. You can skip this step to accommodate the light.

Step 9: Add the Letters

You will notice that there is a lip all the way around the top cake plate because the plate is upside down. Attach the mirror letters. They are stickers so they just stick on. Once you have added the letters you have finished your Dollar Tree Christmas carousel.
