What you will Need: How to Make a Vaccination Card Holder
- 1/4 yd fabric
- 1/8th yd clear vinyl — 16 gauge
- Scrap of Pellon 808 interfacing
- Standard sewing supplies
- Teflon sewing foot or tissue paper
Step 1: Cut your Fabrics and Vinyl
Cut two pieces of cotton fabric and one piece of interfacing to measure 8″ x 5 1/2″. Then cut two pieces of clear vinyl to measure 3 3/4″ x 5 1/2″

Step 2: Fuse the Interfacing
Fuse the interfacing to the wrong side of one of the cotton fabric pieces.

Step 3: Add the Vinyl
Place each piece of vinyl to each end of the cotton fabric piece with the interfacing and stitch using a 1/8″ seam allowance using your teflon foot. Do not pin as the pin holes will show. Use clips if you need to. You are just securing it to the cotton piece. A teflon foot is necessary for this project as your regular foot will stick to the vinyl. You could use some tissue paper on top of the vinyl if you don’t have a teflon foot. The tissue paper will tear right off. This is a teflon foot alternative.

Step 4: Add the Back
Place the other 8″ x 5 1/2″ piece right sides together on top of the vinyl pieces. Using a 1/4″ seam allowance stitch all the way around leaving a 2″ opening on one side for turning. Clip the corners.

Step 5: Turn the fabrics
Turn the fabrics through the opening you left on one of the side so that it is right sides out. This is a fidgety process because of the vinyl but it works. Use a poking tool to push out the corners making sure they are nice and crisp. I like to use That Purple Thing that you can find in my Amazon Shop. Topstitch all the way around the vaccination card holder for a more professional look and to close up the opening using your teflon foot. This is a double sided vaccination card holder. You could make this a single sided holder by replacing one of the vinyl pieces with fabric.
