How to Make a Whisk Dragonfly

This is a simple and cute whisk dragonfly. This is such a cute summer craft project that takes only minutes to make. For this project I purchased a set of three different sizes of whisks. I also used Dollar Tree beads to finish off this cute craft project. I saw this project on It’s Always Autumn. If you would like more craft projects head over to my Dollar Tree page for many more.

What you will Need
- Three different sizes of whisks
- Colorful beads
- Wood beads
- Pipe cleaners
- Hot Glue
Step 1: Bend the Whisks
Bend the whisks in the shape of a dragonfly. To do this just bend down four of the tines so they form the wings.

Step 2: Create the Antenna
On my whisks there were six tines. using wire cutters remove one of the two remaining tines. If your whisks have five tines there is no need to completely remove it. When you only have one tine sticking up cut it in half using the wire cutters.

Step 3: Add the Head
Using pliers straighten out the antenna. Place a bead over the two sides of the antenna. Fold each side to the side to create the antenna.

Step 4: Add the Colored Beads
Place the beads in all the different colors onto the pipe cleaners. Fold the pipe cleaner over the rounded portion of each wing and back through the bead. Add a bit of hot glue to secure. Cut the pipe cleaner to fit and fold the other end near the handle of the whisk in the same way. Secure again with hot glue. Repeat for all of the wings.

Step 5: Finish the Dragonfly
After the beads are securely attached you can add some eyes if you like. I chose not to but once this is done you have finished your whisk dragonfly.
