How to Make an Upcycled Jeans and Dollar Tree Pumpkin

I saw this project on Facebook and just had to make them for myself. While I was doing that I thought to share this simple project with you. This upcycled jeans and Dollar Tree pumpkin was originally posted by Tanette Forbes Welsh. She graciously allowed me to share it with you. I hope you love it as much as I do. Of course if you would like more Dollar Tree crafts head over to my Dollar Tree page but if you would like more holiday projects head over to my Holiday Projects vault for loads more.

What you will Need: How to Make an Upcycled Jeans and Dollar Tree Pumpkin

Step 1: Cut the Jeans

Cut 8 1/2″ x 1″ strips from the jeans. I made three pumpkins and used less than one pair of jeans.

Step 2: Remove the Stem

Remove each of the stems. The stems just pull out of the top. I substituted corks for my stems as Tanette did.

Step 4: Add the Strips

Spray the pumpkin with Basting spray adhesive. Add the strips you previously cut starting at the center of the bottom and ending in the center of the top. Add hot glue on the jeans as you go. Do not put hot glue on the pumpkin. It will melt. Overlap the strips as you go.

Step 5: Add the Stem

Hot glue the stick into the hole at the top over the fabric that was tucked in. Make surfe the cork is secure.

Step 6: Create and Add the Bow

The thing that drew me to this project was the ribbon. It is Dollar Tree pumpkin ribbon. This ribbon is 2 1/2″ wide. Create a nice bow using the ribbon and hot glue it to the stem. That is all there is to this project. I had a hard time making bows for my projects until I discovered Southern Charm Wreath’s bow making course. If you struggle with this head over to Southern Charm Wreath and sign up for their bow making course here.
