I had these plastic bowls from Dollar Tree in my stash for ages and really needed to do something with them so I came up with a Dollar Tree faux candy craft. These faux candies are so cute and super simple to make. This is a beginner craft project that anyone with basic crafting skills can make in no time. You can make Christmas candies or candies for other occasions. Just grab a few bowls and some paint to create your own. If you would like more Dollar Tree crafts head over to my Dollar Tree page. What you will Need: How to Make Dollar Tree Faux Candy
- 2 Dollar Tree clear plastic bowls
- 4 Dollar Tree Crystal cut salad bowls
- Red Chalk paint
- White Chalk Paint
- Green Chalk Paint
- Masking tape
- Hot Glue
- e6000 glue
- Cellophane
- Ribbon
- Jingle Bells
- Bakers Twine
Step 1: Glue the Bowls
Start by gluing the clear plastic bowls together rim to rim. Add some hot glue and e6000 to the rim of one of the bowls. Place it onto the rim of the other bowl and let set.

Step 2: Add the salad bowls
Add hot glue and e6000 to the bottom of the salad bowl. Attach the salad bowl to the bottom of the clear bowls on each end and let set.

Step 3: Paint the Bowls
Paint the attached bowls white using the white chalk paint. Let dry. Add a second coat of white. Make sure that the paint is thoroughly dry before moving on to the next step.
Step 4: Tape the bowls
Using the masking tape mask off diagonal stripes. Start the stripes on the salad bowl end and wrap the tape around the entire project by rotating the bowls. I used two pieces of tape side by side. Leave some of the white showing. Then add two additional pieces of tape just a bit apart between the original pieces of tape as shown.

Step 5: Paint the red or green
Where you see the larger of the two white gaps paint the red or green paint. You will need two coats here as well.

Step 6: Add the Glitter
Once the paint has dried add some glitter to holograph paint to add some sparkle.

Step 7: Add the Cellophane
Wrap the Candies in the cellophane and tie with Christmas colored bakers twine.

Step 8: Add the Ribbon
Create two bows from the ribbon and place them on the seam you created when you added the salad bowls to the ends of the clear plastic goals. Add a Jingle bell on the knot of the bow.
