The final results.
Step 2 Washi Tape
Washi tape is a decorative paper tape that can be used for many different craft projects. It is used by scrap bookers, paper crafters, organizers and virtually every other kind of crafter. It is beautiful and durable. it is available at fabric stores, craft stores and online. I chose to use Washi tape to decorate my Christmas gift tags.
The first tags I made were the Christmas Tree tags. They were very easy. I simply cut strips of tape, folded them non-sticky side together and cut a diagonal from the corner to make triangles out of different patterns of tape. I stacked them on top of each other leaving a small space in between to create the Christmas Tree shape. I put a small square at the bottom for the trunk and the tree was done. It literally took me about 5 minutes to complete. If you use the longer tags you can even put a star on top.
The next Tags I made were the candle tags. It can’t get much easier than this. I cut three strips of tape and placed it on the card. I used a small paper punch in the shape of a card and punched out 3 stars as the lights of the candles and it was complete.
Next, I used the star punch and a snowflake punch that I had and cut the stars and snowflakes and put them all over different tags. Super simple to do. One tag I just put three strips of tape and that was it. The only limitation to this project is your imagination. This project took very little time and resulted in a stack of one of a kind colorful Christmas Gift Tags that anyone can make.
