What you will Need: How to Make a beginner holiday throw pillow
- 2 16″ x 16″ pieces of fabric
- Contrasting scraps of fabric for buttons
- Fiberfill
- 2 buttons for each pillow
- Doll Needle
- Sewing Machine
- Standard Sewing Supplies

Step 1: Fold the Fabric pieces and Stitch
Fold the fabric pieces wrong sides together diagonally to create a triangle. Press thoroughly with a hot iron. Topstitch all the way across the fold. Open the fabric and fold it wrong sides together in the opposite direction.

Step 2: Stitch the pillow
Place the two pieces of fabric right sides together, Stitch all the way around using a 1/4″ seam allowance leaving an opening for turning. Clip the corners and turn right sides out.

Step 3: stuff the pillow
Using fiberfill stuff the pillow case until it is full. Once the pillow case is full close the opening using ladder stitch.

Step 4: Cover the Buttons
Take any two buttons you have that are the same size. Cut a round piece of fabric a little larger than the button. Using a needle and thread stitch a running stitch on the outside of the circles. Place the button in the center of the circle and pull the thread until the button is covered. Knot the thread.

Step 5: Add the Buttons
Start by adding a few stitches in the center of the one side of the pillow case. Push the needle through one hole in the button through the fabric and back through another hole using a dolls needle and invisible thread. Make a stitch through the fabric to secure then insert the needle all the way through the center of the pillow until you reach the center on the other side. Push the needle through a hole in the second button and back through a second hole. Again push the needle through the top fabric to secure. wrap the thread around the needle and knot. Once the buttons are added you have completed your beginner holiday throw pillow.
