What you will Need

  1. Dollar Tree wood egg
  2. Dollar Tree dowels
  3. White chalk paint
  4. Mini doll sneakers
  5. Dollar Tree napkins
  6. Mod Podge
  7. Doll Glasses
  8. Ribbon
  9. Ric Rac

Step 1: Paint the Eggs

Paint the eggs white. You do not want the wood grain to seep through the napkins.

Step 2: Add the Modpodge to the Eggs

On the Eggs, I added Modpodge to the all sides of the surface. Let it dry.

Step 3: Add the Napkin

Separate the plies of the napkin. Place just the top ply of the napkin on top of the surfaces you just added the Modpodge to.

Step 3: Heat the Napkin

Place parchment paper on top of the napkin then iron the napkin so that there are no wrinkles and the Modpodge has melted to decoupage the napkin to the shape. Using sandpaper, remove the excess napkin.

Step 4: Add More Modpodge

Make sure everything is dry. Then, add additional Modpodge to the surface to seal the napkin.

Step 5: Paint the Sides

Choose a coordinating paint to paint the size of the shape.

Step 6: Add the Face

Using black paint add the eyes. Use orange paint to paint the beak. I had some wood chips and cut one into a triangle for the beak that I painted orange. Use hot glue to attach the wood chip if you chose that method. I removed the sides of the glasses and just put the rims on the face using hot glue.

Step7: Paint the Leg

Step 8: Add the Legs

I used a drill to place two holes on the bottom of the eggs. Add wood glue to the dowels and insert them into the holes in the bottom of the shape.

Step 9: Add the Shoes

I purchased some small sneakers on Amazon for the shoes. Glue half of the styrofoam ball into each shoe. Insert the legs into the styrofoam balls to stabalize them.

Step 10: Embellish the Egg

You can embellish the eggs any way you like. I added a bow tie to one and a hair bow to the other. I also added a necklace to one of the eggs. Once you have finished embellishing the eggs you have finished these fun Easter egg people.
