How to Make a Dollar Tree Christmas Candle Holder

I have been shopping at Dollar Tree so much this holiday season and stocking up on craft items. I took some of those items in my now Dollar Tree stash and created this super simple Dollar Tree Christmas Candle Holder. This project came out really well. It really evokes a lovely Christmas scene at little cost or effort. Like all of my holiday Dollar Tree crafts this one is fun and festive. What you will Need: How to Make a Dollar Tree Christmas Candle Holder

Step 1: Remove the Tabs

Each of the mini shelves has two tabs in the bottom of the back. You will want to remove them. You can do this anyway you like but I tried out my brand new mini table saw. It worked great. It was fast and easy.

Step 2: Glue the Shelves Together

Add both e6000 and hot glue to the back of one of the shelves. Glue it to the back of the other shelf to create a square platform. Let the glue dry.

Step 3: Add the Spackle

This step is optional. I added it to create a nice flat, clean surface. The spackle was added to fill the joint between the two shelves. Let it dry completely. I use the pink kind so I know when it dries.

Step 4: Sand the Piece

I sanded the entire piece especially where the joint is. Make sure that the top surface is nice and smooth. The sanding will flatten the surface and enable the paint to stick better.

Step 5: Paint the Piece

Using the white chalk paint paint the entire candle holder. You can skip this step if you like but I wanted that chalk finish to my candle holder. Make sure the piece dries completely.

Step 6: Add the Mod Podge

Paint Mod Podge to the flat surface of the shelf pieces.

Step 7: Sprinkle the Faux Snow

Sprinkle the faux snow on top of the Mod Podge. Let it dry.

Step 8: Add the Round Mirror

Using the Hot Glue and e6000 glue the round mirror to the top left corner of the shelf piece.

Step 9: Glue the Fur Christmas Ornament

The fur ornament is the same size as the round mirror. Place a little hot glue on the edge of the mirror and place the ornament on top.

Step 10: Add the Trees

I purchased three different sizes of Christmas trees. Glue the bottle brush trees to the right of the shelf piece using hot glue. I did not glue the LED Tree because I would not be able to put in the batteries.

Step 11: Attach the Ribbon

Place a piece of red and black checked ribbon around the neck of the reindeer. I noticed that my reindeer did not have as much glitter on it as I wanted so I added glitter to the reindeer using Mod Podge. This step is optional.

Step 12: Glue the Reindeer

Using hot glue and e6000 glue the feet of the reindeer to the front of the shelf piece in front of the trees.

Step 13: Add the Red Mini Jingle Bells

I decided to add some mini jingle bells to the large tree to add color to the entire piece. Just hot glue them randomly.

Step 14: Add the Candle Holder

Finally, add the candle holder. You have now finished your Dollar Tree Christmas Candle Holder.
