What you will Need: How to Make a Dollar Tree Christmas Window

Step 1: Glue the Frames

Take the four picture frames and remove the glass and backs so that you only have a frame. Using hot glue and e6000 glue the frames together in a grid shape. I used Dollar Tree clamps to hold them together while the glue sets.

Step 2: Paint the Frames

I used chalk paint to paint my frames. I used oatmeal Folk Art chalk paint to paint all of the frames. Once the paint was dry, I used ground espresso Tim Holtz Distressed Oxide to age the frames a little. I wanted a bit of a farmhouse look to this project.

Step 3: Replace the Glass

Once all the paint has dried add the glass back into the frames. I removed the black metal that keeps the glass and backs in place. Glue the glass in place using hot glue.

Step 4: Cut the Christmas Gift Bag

Place the frames on top of the gift bag to get the portion you want to be seen through the glass. Trace around the frames and cut out the bag.

Step 5: Glue the Bag

Glue the bag to the frames so that the scene can be seen through the glass. I put the glue on the frame and laid the bag on top.

Step 6: Add the Wood Support

Once the bag has dried, glue some wood planks to keep the whole thing together. Once the planks have dried add some tower blocks to the bottom so that the piece can stand up on its own.

Step 7: Add the Brown Paper

Take a piece of brown craft paper to cover the back so you have a nice neat project.

Step 8: Add the Screw Eyes

Now that everything is together screw in two screw eyes to the top of the window. Tie some twine to the window as a hanger.

Step 9: Add the Ribbon and Greenery

Hot glue some greenery to the left corner of the window along the top and side. Create a bow and add it to the greenery. If you have difficulty making bows. Do what I did, take Southern Charm Wreath’s bow making class. It will really raise your bow making game.

Step 10: Add the Mini Lights

Glue the mini lights outside the frame and attach the controller to the back.

Step 11: Add the Faux Snow

I used tacky glue and placed it on the bottom of each frame and sprinkled the faux snow. Let the faux snow dry. You have now completed your Dollar Tree Christmas Window. Merry Christmas!!
