Step 1: Cut out the Fabrics

Print the pattern pieces. The envelope comes in 4 pieces that need to be taped together. The envelope includes a 1/4″ seam allowance. I have provided heart patterns in different sizes. I added seam allowance that should be 1/4″. You Will need to cut two envelope pieces of fabric and one of interfacing. Cut two each of the hearts.

Step 2: Fuse the Interfacing

Fuse the interfacing to the outer envelope piece.

Step 3: Stitch the Bottom

Place the bottom right side right side together with the top right side of the bottom and stitch using a 1/4″ seam allowance. Repeat for the left side. Turn right side out.

Step 4: Add the Heart Lace

Baste the heart lace all the way around the top of the outer envelope right sides together

Step 5: Create the Lining

Create the lining exactly the same as the outer envelope but leave an opening for turning and do not add the lace.

Step 6: Join the Pieces Together

Place the lining envelope right sides together with the outer envelope so that the lace is sandwiched in between. Stitch together using a 1/4″ seam allowance.

Step 7: Turn Right Sides Out

Turn the envelope right sides together through the opening you left in the lining. Close the lining using ladder stitch or your machine. Press well.

Step 8: Age the Outer Envelope

Using ground espresso distressed oxide distress the outside of the envelope to give it an aged look.

Step 9: Create the Hearts

Place the two heart pieces right sides together and stitch using a 1/4″ seam allowance leaving an opening. Turn right sides out. Stuff with fiberfill. Close the opening using ladder stitch. Stitch 5 hearts. I stitched 2 large, 2 medium and 1 small3.

Step 10: Create a Messy Bow

Cut three strips of fabric and create a small bow. Stitch it to the top right of the envelope. Add a heart button to the center. You can sew or hot glue the heart.

Step 11: Add the Embellishment

While you are at Dollar Tree pick up some wood valentine embellishments. Add one to the bottom V of the envelope as shown using hat glue. You have now finished your Valentine’s Envelope Wreath.
