How to Make a Dollar Tree Gingerbread Man Door Hanger

I saw these gingerbread men cutouts when I was at Dollar Tree and immediately know what I wanted to do with them. I really think this is an adorable Dollar tree Gingerbread Man Door Hanger. What you will Need: How to Make a Dollar Tree Gingerbread Man Door Hanger

Step 1: Paint the Body

Start by filling the holes at the top of each gingerbread man. I used lightweight spackle for this process. Using the burnt Sienna paint cover the body of the gingerbread man. Do not paint the raised portions of the cutout. I also painted the back and the craft sticks the same color. You don't have to but I thought it made a nicer finish. Let Dry. Dollar Tree has smaller gingerbread men but I chose the larger ones.

Step 2: Paint the Squiggly Lines

Paint the squiggly lies white using the white chalk paint. Let dry.

Step 3: Paint the Buttons

Inside the raised placards are three around circles. These represent the buttons. Using the black chalk paint paint each of the buttons black.

Step 4: Paint the placards

Each gingerbread man has has a placard with a bow. Paint one red, one green, and one gold.

Step 5: Paint the faces

Using the paint pens create a face on each of the three gingerbread men. This is simple given the simplicity of gingerbread men faces.

Step 6: Join the Gingerbread men

Layout the gingerbread men the way you want them to appear. Turn them over and join them together by gluing craft sticks joining them together. Use both wood glue and hot glue for this process.

Step 7: Add the Hanger and Bow

Take a piece of gingerbread ribbon and fold it in half. Hot glue it to the back of the top gingerbread man. Create a bow using the red and white check ribbon and the gingerbread ribbon. If you are uncomfortable making bows. Head over to Southern Charm Wreaths and take their bow making class like I did.. Once the bow is added you have finished this really cute project.
