What you will Need: How to Make a Dollar Tree Valentine's Day Door Hanging
- Dollar Tree wood round
- Wood heart cutout
- Galvanized metal heart cutout — I could not find a link for this
- Dollar Tree heart picks
- 2 Double sided 12 x 12 red check paper
- Red chalk paint
- Mod Podge
- Valentine's Day ribbon
- Wood Letters
- 1 Glitter styrofoam heart
- Sand Paper
- Spackle
- Hot Glue
- Wood Glue
Step 1: Fill the Holes
Use the spackle to fill the holes in the wood heart and the metal heart. Let dry completely. Sand to make it level with the wood and metal.

Step 2: Paint the Hearts
Paint the metal heart white and the wood heart red using chalk or acrylic paint. I also painted the gold heart picks in a variety of pink and red.

Step 3: Add the Mod Podge
Cover the wood round and the metal heart with Mod Podge. Let the Mod Podge dry completely.

Step 4: Decoupage the paper
Place different sides of the double sided paper on the round and the heart. Cover with a piece of parchment paper. Heat with a small iron to fuse the paper to the round and the heart. Once the pieces have cooled down use sandpaper to remove the excess paper. Cover with another layer of Mod Podge.

Step 6: Create the Bow
I created a bow for the top of my door hanging. I used the techniques I learned from Southern Charm Wreaths and my Bowdabra. if you have difficulty making bows head over to Southern Charm Wreaths and learn how here.

Step 7: Paint the Word
I wrote the word LOVE using the wood letters. Paint them black.

Step 9: Add the Word
Using hot glue add the black letters.

Step 10: Add the Bow
Once you have the bow the way you want it hot glue it to the top of your door hanging.

Step 11: Add the picks
Hot glue the heart picks throughout the bow to really add pizzazz and dimension. Once the picks have been added you have finished your Dollar Tree Valentine's Door Hanging.
