How to Make Candy Corn Throw Pillows

It’s coming up to Halloween and I thought I would create these adorable candy corn throw pillows for this Halloween season.  These pillows are a simple sewing project and super fun to make.  Any beginner sewist can make these pillows.  It is simply three strips of fabric and some fiberfil.  But those three strips of fabric bring back Halloween memories.

I used orange, yellow and white Kona cotton for my candy corn pillows.  You could use some similarly colored quilting cotton for yours.  I obtained my fabric at
JOANN Fabric & Craft Stores but you could order yours from Hobby Lobby, Fabric.com or onlinefabricstore.net to get it delivered safely to your home. This post contains affiliate links that if you click on them and make a purchase I may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you.

Step 1: Cut your Fabrics

Cut Two strips each of white orange and yellow that measure 5″ x 12″.

Step 2: stitch the fabrics

Starting with one piece of the yellow fabric place it right sides up on your work surface.  Lay the orange piece right sides down on the yellow piece and pin.  Stitch the two pieces together using a 1/4″ seam allowance.  Place the white strip right sides down on the orange piece and pin.  Stitch the pieces together using a 1/4″ seam allowance.  Repeat for the other three pieces. Press the seams open.

Step 5: Finish the candy corn throw pillow

Turn the pillow right sides out.  Stuff the pillow to the desired plumpness with the fiberfill.  Close the bottom using ladder stitch.  If you are unfamiliar with ladder stitch or invisible stitch check out the video below.  You have now finished your candy corn throw pillow.
