25 Easy to Make Fat Quarter Projects
25 Easy to Make Fat Quarter Projects
I absolutely love remnants and fat quarters and am always looking for projects to make from them. I thought I would put together this round up of fun and colorful fat quarter projects that I have created. Just a small amount of fabric and little bit of time can gain great results. I hope you like this list.
If you are not familiar with fat quarters they are pre-cut pieces of fabric that measure a quarter yard or generally 18″ x 22″. Unlike a quarter yard of fabric from the bolt that typically measures 44″ x 9″, a fat quarter is cut from one yard of fabric, cut in half lengthwise, and then in half width-wise. This provides a squarer shape to the quarter yard of fabric rather than a wider strip. The squarer shape has a broader range of uses than just a quarter yard strip of fabric.
Remnants are usually found at your local fabric store in the remnant bin and consist of fabric from the end of a bolt that is one yard or less. Remnants are usually priced at 50% off the regular price so they can be a very good bargain if you don’t need much fabric for your project.
This set of projects can be made with fat quarters or remnants so they are inexpensive and easy to make. I chose cotton fabrics for all of these projects. Cotton is colorful, sturdy and easy to work with and perfect for these 25 easy to make fat quarter projects.
